I also do a week in rock, talk about some posts on the Rock and Roll Geek Forums and read some emails from friends of the show.

• ? Mike,

I’m getting a headache listening to this “ratt” review…Let me just say—-They suck now and they sucked then or vise versa. LA Hairband…You need a new show segment called I X YOU OUT! and start with Ratt. On another note, being a huge Divynle fan, you may like the attached MP3 from a group called the Duke Spirit, a hot stripper at the Clairmont Lounge Dances to this song and turned me on to them. Give it a listen.

• ? Butler! Totally forgot to do some major ass kissing last time. Time to catch up! Loved Standing in the Spotlight. Great album. 10 of 10 as far as rap goes. Also liked the Cheap Trick review, definitely a must have. You know, you should not you send me Standing in the Spotlight, the Latest, and Michael Monroe’s Not Fakin’ It, because that would just be wrong, and I did not just get fired and am not out of money. Thanks for your awesome podcast. I recently checked out one called Rock and Roll TV, and what flashed across my screen, but horrendous pop and rap garbage I had never heard of. Thusly, I thank you for all you do in the world of rock and roll.

p.s.- Attention all geeks under the age of 18! take it from a fellow young rock and roll geek… Find better things to bleed your bank account dry with than avenged sevenfold. PLEASE!!!

Levi, the 9th grade rock and roll geek.
Rock long and prosper.

• ? Hello once again, I loved the track by track review of The Latest. If you hadn’t done the track by track i might not have bought the record. But thanks to your podcast it now sits with my other CD’s. I have written this email to inform you about the new Dream Theater record that I just found on iTunes. I love this record and reccommend it to all fans of rock. Here is my favorite song from the album and I hope you enjoy it. It is a little long but hey, that’s what Dream Theater is known for!

I also love the name ” DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH!! ”

• ? Hello My Friend, How’s it going? Pretty great here since I went to the PRIEST-Whitesnake show last night in Wallingford CT…and recorded it BADLY, just as reference anyway. I will try to do an audio comment/review this week. Halford sounded great.. David Coverdale didn’t do to bad a job either. I wasn’t to excited about WS but they were surprisingly entertaining. Priest is always great and hearing British Steel cover to cover was very enjoyable. That’s what they started the show with. that’s a great album..Priest did not do Turning Circles like I had hoped but That was to be expected, They did Freewheel Burnin at the end with Rob Halford coming out on his Bike. I prefer Hell bent for leather but that’s OK, Something off of Defenders o the faith brings me back too. Gotta run, I have a 2 year old who is screaming and a 6 year old who is sleeping.

Peace for now brother-

• ? Michael:
A couple of years ago…my 2 kids (who are young) asked me about some music their friends were playing.
I listened to it and quite frankly it was terrible….they liked it as it was from the latest “movie” the kids were into.

Since then…Every summer I have a tradition with my 2 daughters of schooling them in music.
I have always believed if you know the history you can then judge what is happening now appropriately….in anything…music, politics etc
Each summer I pick 2 bands….load a ipod and play it all summer up at our cottage.
Any suggestions on music?
I am covering all styles of music…..
I have already done Beatles, Beach Boys/Surf Music, Bob Marley, and Elvis/Rockabilly,
Any thoughts?…I have brain cramp today…

• ? Michael,

This is coming to you a little late on this topic, my apologies. You are probably sick of banter about the Dee Dee album review. I just quickly wanted to comment. No matter what anyone says, that album is 100% Dee Dee. It captures his character, humor, and his edge perfectly. It also has some catchy tunes. For that, I appreciate the album. Kudos to you for reviewing it, I am sure you knew the controversy that was coming.
Last night on VH1 classic they aired a Thin Lizzy concert, I am not sure the date. The show was titled BBC crown Jewel (or something similar). If you have not seen it, check it out. I thought it was great.

Happy Friday bro,
Parker, The Rock and Roll P – Dog
