Good show. It’s nice to hear you being laid back and just spinning tunes.
Just one correction. For What It’s Worth was originally recorded by Buffalo Springfield.
Also I seem to remember hearing that the producer for the CJ’s LP you mentioned was(is?) the husband of Debbie Gibson. However, my memory of years past has been proven to be a bit hazy, so I might be wrong.
july 1980…in illinois…98 degrees…98% relative humidity
we tapped a keg and mixed up a huge barrel of hurricanes at about 10am
somebody gave me a lude
i knew something was wrong a few hours later when we were playing volleyball and i dove for a dig…then noticed that there was a huge pipe of some sort coming out of the ground about three inches from my head…close call
a little while later and i was passed out in a pool of sweat on a concrete slab under the pavillion at the park where we were having the party…there are pictures somewhere of people coming around to spray me with bug spray and fan me with towels from time to time
one picture i remember where i was passed out and there was a hurricane in a plastic cup beside me — looked like jonestown
the only good thing i can say about my experience with ludes is that my first ex-wife left me that day
:^)
