Michael Butler interviews the Guitar Tuner creator.
Overview
GuitarToolkit
is a collection of essential guitar utilities for your iPhone and 2nd
generation iPod touch. All for just US $9.99.
Chromatic Tuner
Using
the iPhone’s microphone, GuitarToolkit provides a highly accurate
chromatic tuner. You can tune to any musical note or to a specific
tuning. Need to see it on stage? The high contrast mode is a perfect
fit.
Scales
Choose
from a list of scales for each note. You can even see scales for any
tuning you choose. The interactive fretboard means you can just touch a
note to hear exactly what it sounds like.
Chord Library
With
over 500,000 chords, you can ditch those chord books you’ve been
carrying around. Need to hear what a chord sounds like? No problem,
just give it a strum. GuitarToolkit also support chords for alternate
tunings!
Chord Finder
Playing
around on your guitar, find some random fingering that sounds cool, and
want to know what chord it is? GuitarToolkit’s got your back. In Chord
Finder mode, just place markers on the right frets and you’ll see what
chords it represents.
Metronome
GuitarToolkit
also includes a precisely accurate metronome with 13 different sound
effects and 12 time signatures. The metronome includes a visible flash
option and a tempo tap pad.
Custom Tunings
GuitarToolkit
comes with a wide range of alternate tunings, but if you’ve got a
favorite that’s missing, you can create your own with just a few simple
clicks.
Supported Instruments
GuitarToolkit provides full support for 6 and 12 string Guitar, 4, 5 and 6 string Bass, Banjo, Ukulele and Mandolin.
Lefties Welcome!
Each
supported instrument also has a “lefty mode” option which adjusts
chords and scales to reflect those on a left-handed guitar.
