Very cool interview! It was fun to listen to you and your wife talking to her. Pretty interesting.
What a great interview! I loved Rebel Heart when I read it a few years ago and glad you were able to get Bebe on the show. Her and Pamela des Barres really wrote great memoirs, capturing the era when music was much more exciting.
Great interview. I had no idea how bright and cool Bebe Buell is. She is SMART! Not just average smart either. WAY smart. I read an interview with her in High Times a couple of years ago and Steve Hagar was still the editor at the time- they have since changed hands. He said in his editor’s notes that she was “one of the smartest, most enlightend people” he had ever met. I get it now- she is so much smarter than her book or her image. I do like her book but its her music that sold me. She rocks! And she should have her own show- imagine the cool interviews she could have with musicians. Thanks for the great rock and roll chat.
Great Interview!
I have only read articles about Bebe, so it was cool to finally hear her.
I got some good insights into her life and the men she had relationships with.
The Elvis Costello insight was excellent.
I would love to be in the same room and watch Diana Krall hear that interview with Bebe.
That is Elvis Costello’s current wife.
Now that would be a show on its own haha
Hi all- I had a delightful time doing this interview with Mike and Athina. It was tons of fun. I’m glad some of your enjoyed it.
I wanted to make a couple of little comments to some of the comments, HA!
1) Shane- I am thrilled that Elvis has found happiness and my remarks were never meant to reflect otherwise. I am a huge fan of Diana Krall and maybe in his relationship with her there is perfect harmony. Remember too it really was YEARS ago that he and I were involved- people grow up and change. I wish him only the best and I mean that sincerely. A lot of what I say in these situations is meant to be “tongue and cheek” so take it as such.
2) For those that like my book and enjoy the music, thank you!!
3) And to Mike and Athina- I hope to chat with you again soon.
Like I said- I really enjoyed the whole experience.
Whopps! That was meant to say- some of YOU enjoyed it- not some of “your”- third sentence. Just fixing the whopps!
It was really nice to talk to a legend. BeBe, you are always welcome anytime. You were a FANTASTIC guest, in my opinion.
Michael
Hello Bebe,
I know your comments were tongue in cheek, you have a good sense of humour. I hope Elvis Costello has grown up and matured.
I checked out your website, you still look fantastic! You must have some sort of magnetism that attracts men. I will have to read your book now after hearing your interview. That was a fun interview.
Thanks.
i really enjoyed listening to Bebe Buell talk rock.
this is the first time in ages that i heard anybody talk about being a groupie in the same way that i think of being a groupie. it IS about being a fan of live music and working musicians rather than using music to get close to famous people who happen to be musicians.
