i find the ice chewing thing interesting. especially, since i have a sister who is an ice chewer. it drives me nuts having to listen to her crunch-crunch-crunch on ice when we are out together. i asked her why she chews ice. she says it gratifies her. ? whatever…
a couple of years ago while surfing the internet, i came across an ice chewing forum. i found the postings hilarious and sent a link to the website to my sister thinking it was a joke and she would find humor in it as did i. she was totally excited to discover a forum dedicated to ice chewers and was somewhat offended that i thought the forum to be a joke.
believe it or not, my sister actually has a favorite ice source. her favorite ice is sold by Turkey Hill, a convenience store chain. my sister buys her Turkey Hill ice in 5 pound bags and stocks her freezer at home and at her office. she says Turkey Hill ice has excellent flavor and desirable texture.
i really don’t understand the gratification that ice chewing gives my sister, but at least i know that if i am ever in a tight pinch to find ice to chill my beer my sis has a good stash of Turkey Hill ice.
