excellent… really enjoy listening to Manny. hope his Nazareth band plays Hershey, PA. i’ll be there, for sure!
spent lots of hours during my youth listening to early Nazareth. must have went through 3 or 4 8-track tapes of ‘Hair Of The Dog’ back in the good ol’ days. still have it on vinyl, though 🙂
Thats not the REAL Nazareth..The real nazareth is touring Germany right now, they are a band from Scotland..These Nazareth Wannabes are from the USA, and they are not even close to sounding like the Real Nazareth that the world loves..this is just there old guitar player that is trying to make a living off of the a band that he left 20 years ago..manny is a great player, but he is in no way Nazareth..search for the real Nazareth at Nazarethdirect.com..enjoy the real deal
Michael, thank you sooooo much for interviewing Manny Charlton!
I’m a BIG “Nazareth” fan! They are my all time favorite band in the world. No vocalist can hold a candle to Dan McCafferty. Such a great interview! “No Mean City” is definitely one of the BEST albums ever made!
I just finished listening to your interview with Manny Charlton. I grew up loving Manny’s guitar playing. But like many tragic rock stars who can’t handle losing stardom, he sounds a bit jaded and bitter…not in an angry way, but more like a defeated way.
I have heard a smattering of his solo songs since leaving Nazareth. And I can’t believe how poor the songwriting and band are! This guy says he has a manager, but how about a mentor?
His choice to tour as “Nazareth with Manny Charlton” is a bad one. It undermines his credibility, and hurts the brand name in general. I hope for his sake and ours that his pending tour doesn’t get off the ground. And let’s hope he goes back to the drawing board on his band approach.

My buddy tells a story about how he was riding the bus, and this guy who said he was the guitar player in Nazareth starts chatting him up.
Ultimately, the dude offers to score an lb. of weed for my friend. Said friend, somewhat starstruck, concurs. Dude takes the money, walks into the front of a nice hotel..and nevers walks back out. Disappears.
What a dumbass
